The Oasis for Life cafe at Citizens House is open weekdays 9 am till 3 pm, and is ideal for lunch, drinks and snacks before or after a class or activity.

MONDAY (except bank holidays)
Oasis for Life Café 9.00 am – 3.00 pm
The Cafe is run by the learners, volunteers and staff at Learning for Life – come along and try their great new menu in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.

Consett auto-immune support group 11.00 am – 12.00 noon, weekly (not bank holidays). (Room 3)
This is an informal volunteer-led support group for people living with a chronic illness, chronic pain, or an auto-immune condition. Come along and have a cuppa, a chat, a moan, tell us how you cope with your condition …. or just listen in a friendly setting. Keep Moving – Exercise for Everybody 11.00 am – 11.50 am, weekly (Main hall)

Tutor Paul Grey specialises in exercise for people with a wide range of health and mobility issues including cardiac rehabilitation, nutrition and weight management, exercise for chronic respiratory disease, and GP referral. Contact Paul at Keep Moving CIC on 07533 852 510

Pilates class  2.30 pm – 3.30 pm, weekly (Main hall)
If you would like to find out what Pilates is all about, or if you’ve already done some Pilates and want to learn more, then this is the course for you! Your instructor Mary Taylor holds a Level 3 diploma in Instructing Pilates Matwork and will gradually introduce the exercises and techniques – and you don’t need to be fit or flexible!

Consett and Vale of Derwent Field Club 6.30 pm, twice monthly November – February (Main hall)
This long-established and popular walking club (see website) runs a programme of winter talks which cover a wide range of topics from travel to nature, conservation to health. There is a small charge to attend which includes refreshments.  Upcoming dates are Saturday 2 November, Saturday 16 November, Saturday 14 December. For information call Jean on 01207 501989.
